Charles Wiley “Chuck” Gaston, 73, of Brinson, died Wednesday, November 2, 2005, at ocean Springs Hospital in Mississippi. Funeral services were held Sunday, November 6, 2005 at Cox Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Dewitt Phillips officiating. Interment followed in Gaston Cemetery. He received full military honors. Mr. Gaston was born November 6, 1932 in Ringgold to the late Robert Hubert and Clara Chamber Gaston. He had resided in Decatur County since 1976. He was retired from the Military and was a dog trainer and breeder. He was a member of the VFW Post 4904/American Legion Post #62, and Retired Listed Association. He was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include his fiancee, Bessie Owens; three daughters, Sherry Collier of Bainbridge, Keisha Langdon of Biloxi, MS, and Shana Day of Bainbridge; one son, Charles Edward Gaston; three sisters, Edna Franks of Dalton, Debra Palito of Dalton, and Deeta Rosato of Seale, AL; three brothers, Kenneth Gaston of Dalton, Samuel Gaston of Tunnell Hill; 15 grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Yvonne Phillips Gaston and his parents.

Mrs. Cheryl Ann Stewart, 46, of Leesburg, Ga passed away October 31, 2005 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. The visitation will be 7-9 PM Thursday evening, November 3, 2005, at Colquitt Funeral Home. The funeral will be 2 PM Friday, November 4, 2005, at Sheffield Funeral Chapel with the Rev. David Grubbs officiating. Interment will follow at Colquitt City Cemetery. Mrs. Stewart was born August 24, 1959 in Fulton County. She was of the Baptist Faith. She is survived by one brother, Hildridge Stewart Jr. & sister-in-law Kathy of Stockbridge, Ga; one sister, Nancy Stewart of Leesburg, Ga; three nieces, Marie Keith, Jennifer Saunders, & Michelle Stewart; two great nieces, Katelyn Saunders & Kaila Saunders; and one great nephew, Jacob Saunders.
