RUTH SINGLETARY

Ruth Singletary, 54, of Bainbridge, died Thursday, February 3, 2005 in Bainbridge.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, February 6, 2005 at 3:00 p.m. at Cox Funeral Home Chapel with Allen Ware officiating.

Mrs. Singletary was born on August 6, 1950 in Lanstule, Germany. She moved to Decatur County in 1981 from Columbus. She was the Financial Consultant at First Franklin & Citifinancial and was of the Methodist Faith.

Survivors include two daughters, Hannah Singletary and Carol Hill, both of Bainbridge; three brothers, Chester and Frank Ballenger of Clearwater, FL, and Mark Ballenger of Columbus; and one grandchild.

ETHELL ALFORD

Ethell Alford, 93, of Bainbridge, died Wednesday, February 2, 2005 in Bainbridge.

Grave side funeral services were held Friday, February 4, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. in West Bainbridge Cemetery with Rev. Dan Tomberlin officiating. Interment followed.

Mrs. Alford was born December 22, 1911 in Baker County, where she lived most of her life. She was a homemaker that loved to fish, cook and can. She was of the Pentecostal faith.

Survivors include one daughter, Nell and husband Walter Sumner of Tallahassee, FL; one sister, Grace Ammons of Bainbridge; one nephew Terry Melton of Bainbridge; and four grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, the late Lon and Verdie Cook and her husband, the late Velma V. Alford.


Cox Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

DOROTHY JONES


Dorothy Jones, age 65 of Colquitt died Tuesday, February 1, 2005 at Archbold Medical Center in Thomasville.

Mrs. Jones was born May 19, 1939 in Seminole County. She was a private care taker and was of the Baptist Faith.

Graveside services were held Thursday, February 3 at 2:00 p.m. at Colquitt City Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Buddy Sherrer, Richard Dukes, Lucas Brooks, Sterlin Stinson, Randy Richardson, and Richard McConnell.

Survivors include one daughter, Debra Jones, Colquitt; three sons, Terry E. Jones, Jonathan N. Jones, Colquitt, Tony G. Jones, Tallahassee, FL; two sisters, Bobbie Hart, Colquitt, Rose Nell Cross, Bainbridge; and several nieces and nephews.

DAVID MARSHAL GRIFFIN


David Marshal Griffin, age 67 of Colquitt died Wednesday, February 2, 2005 at Archbold Medical Center in Thomasville.

Mr. Griffin was born March 21, 1937 in Miller County. He was a member of Bellview Free Will Baptist Church and was a farmer. He was also a Army Veteran.

Funeral services were held Friday, February 4 at 2:00 p.m. at Sheffield Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Robert Johns and the Rev. Bobby Whitaker officiating. Interment followed in Bellview Free Will Cemetery.

Survivors include three daughters, Connie Mashburn, Montgomery, AL, Blaine Mathis, Colquitt, Donna Midge Brock, Bainbridge; one son, Daryl Griffin, Bainbridge; one brother, Eddie Griffin, Bainbridge; four sisters, Doris Davis, Colquitt, Nell Lane, Iron City, Syble Mils, Bainbridge; Zella Oquin, Brunswick; nine grandchidlren and one great-grandchild.

LILA FORTENER TOOLE

Mrs. Lila Fortener Toole, 81, 543 Hwy 32 East, Leesburg, died Friday at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.

Her funeral service will be held Monday at 3 PM at Kimbrell-Stern Funeral Home, Albany, with interment in Crown Hill Cemetery with Rev. Bobby Harrell officiating.

Mrs. Toole was a native of Kibbee, GA, and had lived in Leesburg for a number of years. She was the bookkeeper at Albany Beverage Company for 30 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Leesburg, the Agape Sunday School Class and was a member of the Leesburg Red Hat Ladies.

Survivors include Greg Toole and his wife Faye, Leesburg; a brother James Fortener, Kibbee and two grandsons, Jim Toole and Jake Toole.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 3 to 5 PM at Kimbrell-Stern.

BARBARA HUDSON

Barbara Hudson, of Newton, died Saturday, January 8, 2005, at Archbold Memorial Hospital in Thomasville.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, February 1, 2005, at 11:00 a.m., at Crown Hill Mausoleum with Rev. Melvin Moody officiating. Entombment followed.

A native of Tenton, NJ, Mrs. Hudson was a homemaker and was of the Baptist Faith.

Survivors include three sons, Kent Hudson and wife Cindy, Larry Hudson, and Mark Hudson and wife Angie, all of Newton; two grandchildren, Allen Hudson and wife Brandi of Newton, and Jesse Hudson of West Point; and two great-grandchildren, Alexis Hudson of Cassville, MS, and Tyler Hudson of Newton.


Kimbrell-Stern Funeral Directors of Albany was in charge of the arrangements.
