FERRELL COOK MOULTRIE SR.
Ferrell Cook Moultrie Sr., 80, of Vestavia Hills, AL, died Tuesday, May 31, 2005, at his residence.
Funeral services were held Saturday, June 4, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at Colquitt Funeral Home with the Rev. Joe Romigh officiating. Interment followed in the family plot in Colquitt City Cemetery.
Mr. Moultrie was born in Harris County on October 17, 1924. After graduating from Mountain Hill School in May, 1942, Mr. Moultrie was employed by Georgia Power Company until he entered military service with the 838th Ordnance Depot Company, and served as art of the U.S. 3rd Army under General Patton in the European Theater of WW II. His company was dispatched to England aboard the Queen Mary for raining in April of 1944 and then ferried across the English Channel in an LCT (Landing Craft Transport) to land on Utah Beach on August 5, 1944, a few days after D-Day. After the war, Mr. Moultrie volunteered as a leader in the Scouting program, helped coach high-school basketball, and attended school in electrical technology in Albany after rejoining his employment with the Georgia Power Company. Mr. Moultrie married the former Eva Ruth Tabb on May 23, 1948. After moving to Atlanta, he helped charter and served on the board of the All good Road Methodist church in Dekalb County. In 1961, the family moved to Vestavia Hills, AL. Mr. Moultrie joined Vestavia Hills Methodist Church and was active as a Scout leader serving from 1965 through 1980 as Webelos Den Leader and Cubmaster of Pack 352, Committee Member and Assistant Scoutmaster of Troop 4, and finally as Committee Member and Explorer Advisor of Explorer Post 4. Both of Mr. Moultrie’s sons earned the rank of Eagle Scout and were selected as members of the Order of the Arrow, Scouting’s National Honor Society.
Survivors include his wife, Eva Ruth Tabb Moultrie of Vestavia Hills, AL; two sons, Ferrell Cook Moultrie Jr. and wife Ivy of Roswell, and Daniel Louis Moultrie and wife Patti of Vestavia Hills, AL; two brothers, Marvin Pierce Moultrie of Jacksonville, FL and Roy Dean Moultrie of Mountain Hill; one sister, Francis Elizabeth Moultrie of Mountain Hill; four grandchildren, Christopher Tabb Moultrie, Katherine Elizabeth Moultrie, Ashley Carol Moultrie, and Daniel Joseph Moultrie.

JUANITA CHANCE QUICK
Juanita Chance Quick, age 87, of Winter Haven, FL formerly of Donalsonville, passed away Monday, May 30, 2005 in Winter Haven, FL. Graveside service was held Saturday, June 4, 2005 at 11:00 AM at Corinth Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery in Iron City. Mrs. Quick was born in Seminole County on November 29, 1917 to the late William J. and Annie Lois Bentley Chance. She moved to Florida in 1952 and worked as a telephone operator for Florida Telephone. She is survived by one daughter Barbara Cox of Winter Haven, FL one sister Vada Spooner of Iron City. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren.

JESSIE LAVERT ANGLIN POWELL
Jessie Lavert Anglin Powell, 88, of Blakely, died Tuesday, May 31, 2005, in Early Memorial Nursing Home in Blakely.
Funeral services were held Thursday, June 2, 2005, at the Chapel of Manry-Jordan-Hodges Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Derrell Newberry and Dr. Joe Hodges officiating. Interment followed in Pinelawn Cemetery.
Mrs. Powell was born October 3, 1916 in Worth County. She lived most of her life in Miller County. She worked as a salesperson and homemaker and was a member of Centerville United Methodist Church.
Survivors include one son, William C. and Evelyn Powell of Blakely; one brother, Louie Anglin of Blakely; two sisters, Addie Mae McDonald of Blakely, and Fannie Pearl Hogue of Peachtree City; one half brother, Willie Anglin of Bainbridge; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter Colin Anglin and Fannie Pearl Perry Anglin and her husband, Marion Clarence Powell.

MARGARET ETHEL BRUNNER
Margaret Ethel Brunner, 88, of Colquitt, died Monday, May 23, 2005 at Miller Nursing Home. Her body was cremated.
Mrs. Brunner worked in the Parts Department with Intersate Harvester in Hawaii. She was of the Catholic faith.
Survivors include her close friends, Frances Taylor of Donalsonville, and Melanie Booker of Tallahassee, FL.

EUGENE MCLENDON
Eugene McLendon, 79, of Bainbridge and formerly of Donalsonville, died Friday, May 27, 2005 at Bainbridge Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services were held Sunday, May 29, 2005 at 3:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home with Rev. Luther Hastey officiated. Interment followed in the New Salem Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery in Miller County.
Pallbearers were Jowl Rackley, Dennis Rackley, Brad Rackley, Jason Rackley, Brian Atkinson, and Kenneth West.
Mr. McLendon was born on August 4, 1925 in Miller County to the late George Allen and Lou Gilbert McLendon. He worked as a brick mason for 38 years.
Survivors include one son, Danny McLendon and his wife Sandra of Brinson; one brother, Joe Tom McLendon and his wife Luverne of Colquitt; one sister, Collie Mae Nix of Colquitt; two grandchildren, Stephanie Atkinson and her husband Brian of Pelham, AL and Jeremy McLendon of Brinson; a special friend, Adene Pope of Bainbridge; and several nieces and nephews.

Bryant Arthur Phillips, 85, of Jacksonville, FL, died Sunday, May 22, 2005 in Jacksonville, FL.
Funeral services were held Sunday, May 29, 2005, at 2:00 p.m. at Sheffield Funeral Chapel with Mike Close officiating. Interment followed in Colquitt City Cemetery.
