Week of October 29, 2006

BRIDGETT BURKE POWELL

Mrs. Bridgett Burke Powell, age 33, of Iron City died Sunday, October 22, 2006.
Mrs. Powell was born September 28, 1973, to Ladon and Linda Burke of Iron City. She was a 1993 graduate of Seminole County High School and a member of Iron City Baptist Church. She worked as a secretary with Georgia Department of Corrections in Bainbridge.
Funeral services were held Thursday, October 26, at 2:00 p.m. at New Hope Worship Assembly in Donalsonville with the Rev. Jason Minter and the Rev. Charles Barnieu officiating. Interment followed in Friendship Memorial Gardens in Donalsonville.
Pallbearers were Michael Kirkland, Loren Rathel, Randy Bryan, William “Dobie” Hatcher, Doug Cunningham, and Chason Newberry.
Honorary pallbearers were her Sunday School Class at Iron City Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Ivy and Landre Powell, Iron City; their father, Mark, Iron City; her parents, Ladon and Linda Burke, Iron City; brother, Brad and Angie Burke; sister, Lola and Allen Givens, all of Donalsonville; mother-in-law, Ginger and Billy Gene Hand, Iron City; father-in-law, Jim and Julie Powell, Columbus; grandmother-in-law, Lillian Easterwood, Iron City; brothers-in-law, Michael and Jana Powell, Iron City, Matthew Powell, Columbus; three nieces, Chelsea Givens, Carlee Burke and Savanna Powell; and one nephew, Justin Burke.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Gordon and Esther Burke, Rollie and Ruth Broxton and her grandfather-in-law, Emory Easterwood.


Evans-Skipper Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

rosa lee odom glass

Rosa Lee Odom Glass, 88, of Phenix City, AL, and formerly of Donalsonville, died Friday, October 27, 2006, in the Canterbury Nursing Home in Phenix City, AL.
Funeral services were held Monday, October 30, at 1:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home with Rev. Dan Tomberlin officiating. Interment followed in the South Mt. Zion Church of God Cemetery.
Mrs. Glass was born in Miller County on April 5, 1918, to the late Steve and Lizzie Burch Odom. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of God faith. She was married to Charlie Glass, who preceded her in death.
Survivors include one son, Charles Glass and his wife Janie of Bainbridge; three daughters, Mary Barber and her husband Ed of Albany, Annette Rickards and her husband, Al, of Ft. Mitchell, AL, and Kathy Tyler and her husband, Terry, of Phenix City, AL; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.


EVans-Skipper Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Marvin Eugene Alday

Mr. Marvin Eugene Alday, 42, of Donalsonville died Monday, October 23, 2006
Mr. Alday was born in Seminole County on March 20, 1964, to Helen Folley Alday and the late Joseph Wheeler Alday. He worked for Easom Peanut Company.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, October, 25, at the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home. Interment followed at Salem-Seminole Baptist Cemetery in Donalsonville.
He is survived by his mother, Helen Alday of Albany; daughters, Beth Alday, and her mother, Gloria, and stepdaughter, Ashley Williams, all of Dothan, AL; three brothers, Terry and Patty Alday of Webb, AL, Charlie Alday of Albany, and Joseph and Elizabeth Alday; two sisters, Mary and Gary Carter of Albany and Peggy Alday of Sylvester. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were David Jarvis, Tony Morris, Scott Brimlow, Shaun Brimlow, James Odom Jr. and Robin Faircloth.


Evans-Skipper Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
