JUANITA GOWAN HARPER
Mrs. Juanita Gowan Harper, age 84, of Bainbridge died Sunday, August 27, 2006, at Memorial Hospital in Bainbridge. Mrs. Harper was born September 2, 1921, in Blakely to the late Jim and Trudie Justice Gowan. She graduated from Hilton High School in 1938 and was a retired certified nurse’s assistant for Memorial Manor Nursing Home. She attended West Street Baptist Church and First Church of the Nazarene in Bainbridge. Graveside services were held Tuesday, August 29, at 2:00 p.m. at Centerville Methodist Cemetery in Early County with the Rev. David Grubbs officiating. Survivors include one son, Bill J. Harper and wife, Pat, Lakeland, FL; three daughters, Joan Wade, Bainbridge, Shirley Dodson, Cordele, and Carolyn Burney McCain and husband, Ed, Bainbridge; two brothers, Bill Gowan, Blakely, and Frank Gowan and wife, Nettie, Blakely; two sisters, Net Enfinger, Blakely, and Joyce Buckman, Bettsville, OH; seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

ROBERT BLACKMAN 'BOB' WARD
Mr. Robert Blackman 'Bob' Ward, 81, of Donalsonville passed away Monday, August 21, 2006, at his residence. Mr. Ward was born in Early County on October 13, 1923, to the late Percy and Mable Kinley Ward. He served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a building contractor and was married to Mizelle Hopkins Ward, who preceded him in death in April 1999. Graveside services were held Wednesday, August 23, at Friendship Memorial Gardens in Donalsonville with the Rev. Luther Hastey officiating. Survivors include two daughters, Karen Inman and her husband Joel and Laura Hardy and her husband Dana, all of Atlanta; one granddaughter, Claire Ward Hardy of Atlanta.

DELORES A. GASTON
Mrs. Delores A. Gaston, 47, of Ellijay, died Tuesday, August 22, 2006, at Ocean Springs Hospital in Ocean Springs, MS. Funeral services were held Saturday, August 26, at Cox Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dewitt Phillips officiating. Interment followed at Gaston Cemetery near Brinson. Mrs. Gaston was born in Whitfield on August 18, 1959. She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith. She is survived by her husband, Charles Edward 'Chuck' Gaston; stepdaughters, Keisha Langdon of Biloxi, MS, and Meika Johnson of Bainbridge; brothers, Troy Martin Petty of Dalton, Michael Petty of Calhoun and James Earl Petty of Cartersville. She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard M. and Peggy F. Petty.
