ELLA PONDER BURNUM
Mrs. Ella Burnum, age 85 of the Vada Community, died on November 26, 2005 at Memorial Hospital. Funeral services was held Monday, November 28, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Vada. Reverends Conrad Salter, Rev. Brian Salter, Mr. Artie White and Col. Bobby White were officiating. Interment followed in the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Greg Ponder, Artie White, Spencer Salter, Brian Salter, Dewayne Glover and Marion Crosson. Honorary Pallbearers will be Kenneth Salter, Robert Hill Baggs, Cecil Thornton, Carrie White, Martine Salter, Autumn Salter and Jillian Volpe.
Mrs. Burnum was born in Grady County the daughter of the late Lee Monroe and Martha Kate King Ponder. She moved to Decatur County in 1948 and has lived here since. She loved gardening and working in her yard. She was a member of the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church and was active in the WMU in earlier years.
She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law Paula Ann and Rev. Conrad Salter of Climax and Sheila Ellen and Col Bobby White of Sumter, SC; 4 grandchildren Spencer P. Salter, Rev. Brian C. Salter, Artie E. White and Keri Camille White; 3 great grandchildren Daniel, Andrew and Samantha Salter. She is preceded in death by her parents, five sisters and four brothers.

PATTI KELLEY TAYLOR
Ms. Pattie Kelley Taylor, age 47, of Bainbridge, passed away Thursday, November 24, 2005 in Bainbridge. The funeral service was held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, November 28, 2005 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Bainbridge. Officiating Minister was Father Guy Wilson S.T. Interment was at Roselawn Memory Gardens, Bainbridge.
Ms. Taylor was born February 09, 1968 in Decatur County, the daughter of Mrs. Helen Kelley and the late E.B. Kelley. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She was a 1976 graduate of Bainbridge High School also a graduate of Bainbridge College. Ms. Taylor was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and worked as a Social Worker for 18 years.
Survivors include her husband, James Taylor of Bainbridge; daughter, Katherine Taylor of Bainbridge; son, Vincent Taylor of Bainbridge; brother, Robert (Bobby) Kelley of Atlanta.
