Week of March 26, 2006

THOMAS ALDAY JR.

Thomas Alday Jr., 73, of Perry, formerly of Donalsonville, died Wednesday, March 29, 2006, at Summerhill Elderliving in Perry.
Graveside services were held Saturday, April 1, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at Hebrew Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Andy Merrit officiating.
Mr. Alday was born in Seminole County on September 14, 1922 to the late Thomas Silas and Lavara Robinson Alday. He owned and operated a shrimp boat out of East Point, FL. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Dykes Alday in 2000; his parents; and one brother, Wilson Alday.
Survivors include four sisters, Inez McGrath and husband Ted, Rita Stafford and husband Richard, both of Warner Robbins, Opal Whatley and husband Tom of Kathleen, and Lynette Hardy and husband Ralph of Ft. Mitchell, AL; one sister-in-law, Marla Touchton of Donalsonville.


Evans-Skipper Funeral Home of Donalsonville was in charge of the arrangements.

NINA BROOKS


Mrs. Nina Brooks, 72, of Colquitt passed away March 27, 2006 at Southeast Alabama Medical Center.

Mrs. Brooks was born December 16, 1933 in Miller County. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ in Pansey Alabama.

Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 29, 2006 at Sheffield Funeral Chapel with LaDon Crooms officiating. Interment followed at Oak Valley Cemetery.

Pallbearers were LaDon Terry Clenney, Donald Brooks, Jimmy Heard, Alan Daniels, Junior Bradley, and Jason Haywood.

Survivors include her husband, Perry Brooks of Colquitt; three sons, Ronald Lovering (Eloise), Danny Lovering (Alacia), and Alan Brooks (Jane), all of Colquitt; two brothers, William Ernest Busby of Bainbridge andHomer Edgar Busby of Webb Al.; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.


Colquitt Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
