Charlie Oliver Bush, Sr
Charlie Oliver Bush, Sr., 87, of Colquitt, died Tuesday, January 24, 2006, at his residence. He was born on November 1, 1918 to the late Mariah and Charlie Bush, parents who farmed and passed the tradition on to him at an early age before he married Vera A. Bush, his wife of sixty-four years, on December 25, 1941. He fought for his country during World War II, touring Japan and the South Seas and obtained an Honorable Discharge, returning home a proud soldier. He was a member and a deacon of New Salem Baptist Church for over a half of a century, teaching Sunday school. He was a Masonic Mason, serving as treasurer. Funeral services will be held held Saturday, January 28 at 11:00 a.m. at Bethel Missionary Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife and his children; Charlie O. Bush, Jr., (Lillie) of Colquitt, Joyce Arline (Milton) of Colquitt, Elton Edward Bush (Kathy) of Stockbridge, Patrick Henry Bush (Shawn) of Albany, Larry Eugene Bush (Bischson) of Fairfax, VA., Jacquelyn Denise Scott (Johnny) of Albany, Betty L. Bush of Atlanta, Tony G. Bush (Valencia) of Charlotte, NC; two brothers Jessie Bush, Henry Lee Bush (Martha); one sister Euzera Sheffield; 19 grandchildren; 15 great-grand children, and many nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.

SCOTT LEE HOOPER
SCOTT LEE HOOPER Mr. Scott Lee Hooper, age 44 of Donalsonville died Wednesday, January 25, 2006 at Southeast Alabama Medical Center in Dothan, AL. Mr. Hooper was born December 14, 1961 to Vaughn and Rosemary Morgan Hooper. He had worked with the Donalsonville News as a photographer, salesman, and pressman for over 20 years. He was a member of the Georgia Press Association, a past president of the American Heart Association, the Chamber of Commerce Volunteer of the Year in 1997, and he designed the Seminole County seal in 1995. A memorial service was held Saturday, January 28 at 4:00 p.m. at the chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home with the Rev. Tim Bell officiating. Survivors include his wife, Diane W. Hooper, Donalsonville; parents, Vaughn and Rosemary Hooper, Donalsonville; son, Jon A. West, Carrolton; brother, Todd M. Hooper, Donalsonville; a brother-in-law, John R. West and his wife, Sara, Sherman, TX; two sister-in-laws, Lynn V. Webster, Montreal, Canada, Susan Herrington and husband, Tim, Swainsboro; and a number of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends also survive.
