Week of February 13, 2005

JUDY ADAMS

Mrs. Jeanette (Judy) Adams, 81, of Colquitt, passed away February 15, 2005 at Miller Nursing Home.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday, February 18, 2005 at Sheffield Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Walter Daniels officiating. Interment will follow at Macedonia Free Will Baptist Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Duran Williams, Marvin Boyd, Joe Sheffield, Glen Lovering, Horace Lovering and Eric Enfinger.

Mrs. Adams was born January 11, 1924 in Early Co. She was a homemaker, a member of Macedonia Free Will Baptist Church, and has been a resident of the Miller Nursing Home for 18 years.

Survivors include two daughters, June Bush and son-in-law Billy of Colquitt, and Wanda Phillips of Bainbridge; one son, Douglas Adams and daughter-in-law Janet of Panama City, FL; four sisters, Marie Tabb and Helen Askew both of Colquitt, Hazel Tipton of Donalsonville, and Betty Marder of Bainbridge; two brothers, Bill Stuart of Houston, TX and Charles Stuart of Valdosta; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, J.L. Adams, and one daughter, Donna Bedwell.





Colquitt Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

CHRISTINE POWELL


Mrs. Christine Powell, age 83, of Bainbridge died Saturday, February 5, 2005, at Memorial Hospital in Bainbridge.

Mrs. Powell was born September 30, 1921 in Baker County. She was a homemaker and a member of County Line Baptist Church.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, February 8 at 11:00 a.m. at Cox Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. David Grubbs officiating. Interment followed at Roselawn Memory Gardens.

Pallbearers were Dale Powell, Haywood Morris, Mark Bryars, Jeff Powell, Todd Powell, Ricky Roberts, and Brian Powell.

Honorary pallbearers were Wesley Helms, Chris Roberts, Chris Helms, Josh Roberts, Seth Powell, and John Roberts.

Survivors include three daughters, Josie Powell, Gwen Powell, Bainbridge, Tricia Bryars, Tallahassee, FL; seven sons, James Powell, Colquitt, Ricky L. Powell, Billy Powell, Steve Powell, Mickey Powell, Tim Powell, Kent Powell, Bainbridge; two sisters, Mildred Haire, Bainbridge, Betty Jo Groach, Stanton, VA; one brother, Ed Haire, Bainbridge; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey B. Powell.


Cox Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
