SANDRA JEAN DAY

Mrs. Sandra Jean Day, 41, of Colquitt, GA passed away March 12, 2006 at Early Memorial Nursing Home. The visitation was Tuesday, March 14, 2006 from 7 til 9:00 P.M. at Colquitt Funeral Home. The funeral was at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, March 15, 2006 at Sheffield Funeral Chapel with Rev. Melvin Moody officiating. Interment will follow at Whites Plain Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Day was born August 24, 1964 , in Glynn Co., GA. She was a homemaker and a member of Whites Plain Free Will Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, Raymond Day of Colquitt; four daughters, Amanda Bland of Donalsonville, Lisa Horace of Fruitland, FL, Kristy Wilson of Bainbridge, and Nikki Day of Donalsonville; one son, Lee Day of Colquitt; one brother, Billy Crews of Colquitt; and two grandchildren, Brandon Wilson and Wyatt Horace.

MABEL MIDDLETON MCVEY

Mrs. Mabel Middleton McVey, 87, of Colquitt, GA passed away March 15, 2006 at Miller Nursing Home. The visitation was from 7-9:00 PM Friday, March 17, 2006, at Colquitt Funeral Home. The funeral was at 2:00 PM Saturday, March 18, 2006, at Mother’s Home Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Talmadge Worsley, Rev. Andy Merritt, Rev. Bobby Whitaker, Rev. Mike Schultz, and Rev. Wayne Sheffield officiating. Her grandsons, Todd McVey, Darrin McVey, Jeff Brewer, Stuart McVey, Hal Corbin, Justin Merritt, and David McVey will serve as pallbearers. Grandson Parrish Brewer will be unable to attend (Saudi Arabia). Her granddaughters and great-grandchildren, Dina Killebrew, Lacy Kliess, Celena Anderson, Marcia McVey, Brittany Miller, Megan & Daniel Killebrew, Kaleb and Peyton Kliess, and Hunter & Anna Lynn Merritt will serve as honorary pallbearers. Interment will follow at Mother’s Home Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery. Flower will be accepted or donations made to Mothers Home Free Will Baptist Church
Mrs. McVey was born October 27, 1918 in Miller County. She was a homemaker, a member of Mother’s Home Freewill Baptist Church, the Adult Sunday School Class, Ladies Bible Circle, and a Sunday school teacher at Mothers Home Free Will Baptist Church. She is survived by three sons, Tommy McVey ( Betty), Ledon McVey (Cilla), and Terry McVey ( Rita), all of Colquitt; five daughters, Gloria Corbin (Dick), of Spanish Fort, AL ., Verna Christie (Ken) of Phenix City, AL, Janice Brewer (Rod), Patsy Merritt (Andy), & Glenda Miller (Jimmy), all of Colquitt; one sister, Ann Payne of Lakeland, FL; two brothers, Billy Middleton of Valdosta and B.A. Middleton of Colquitt; thirteen grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Odis McVey, a sister, Mrs. Eva Davis, and one brother, Edward Middleton.


Colquitt Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
