Week of April 10, 2005

DANNY RAY GRUBBS

Danny Ray Grubbs, 48, of the Eldorendo Community, died Sunday, April 10, 2005 at his residence.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 13, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at First Church of the Nazarene with Rev. David Grubbs and Rev. Stanley Phillips officiating. Interment followed in Mt. Zion Church Cemetery.

Active pallbearers were Jacky Grubbs, Joe Grubbs, Marion Grubbs, Bobby Grubbs, Donald Grubbs, Henry Williams, Rawleigh Furney, Pete Tufts, and Dr. Sydney Cochran.

Honorary pallbearers were all his nephews and the men of the First Church of the Nazarene.

Mr. Grubbs was born December 8, 1956 in Decatur County. He was a partner of Eldorendo Auto Sales and a member of the First Church of the Nazarene. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed his children and family. He was the song leader on Sunday morning church service at Bainbridge Health Care. He was also a Sunday School teacher for 17 years.

Survivors include his wife, Gail Matthews Grubbs of Eldorendo Community; one daughter, Christy Grubbs of Eldorendo Community; one son, Danny Ray Grubbs Jr. of Eldorendo Community; three sisters, Debra Mills of Bainbridge, Mary Williams of Blakely, Rita Furney of Eldorendo Community; six brothers, Marion, Bobby, Jacky, Joe Grubbs, all of Eldorendo Community, Rev. David Grubbs, of Attapulgus, Donald Grubbs of Geneva, AL.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe Brown Grubbs Sr. and Mrs. Mattie Lewis Grubbs Cato, of Bainbridge.


Cox Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

LOWELL FRANCIS ROGERS

Lowell Francis Rogers, age 72, of Donalsonville, passed away Saturday, April 9, 2005 at his residence.
Funeral services for Mr. Rogers was held on Monday, April 11, 2005 at 2:00 at Rocky Ridge Baptist Church with Rev. Daniel Jones and Rev. Jerry Stone officiating. Interment followed in Houston Cemetery in Miller County.
Mr. Rogers was born in Eagle River, WI on September 29, 1932 to the late William John Joseph and Beulah Elise Streeter Rogers. A retired punch press Operator with S & C Electric. He served his country in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He moved here from Chicago several years ago and was a member of Rocky Ridge Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years Emma Edna Houston Rogers; one daughter Cathy Knight both of Donalsonville; two grandsons Andrew Thomas Knight and Daniel James Knight of Palatime, IL; two sisters Reva Kalous of Eagle River, WI and Delores Wardell of Smithville, IL; one brother Daniel Rogers of Eagle River, WI. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and one sister.
Active pallbearers will be Floyd Marmon, Carl Peterson, Leonard Bridges, George Bates, Russell Lewis and Carlton Bridges. The Deacons of Rocky Ridge Baptist Church of Donalsonville served as honorary pallbearers.


Evans-Skipper Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
